How to get to Jardín from Medellín: bus, car and schedules

There is no airport or train: Jardín is reached by road. It is about 135 km from Medellín, done in around three hours, dropping to the Cauca river and climbing again through the coffee Southwest.

By bus

Buses leave from the South Terminal (Carrera 65 #8B-91). Rápido Ochoa sells at window 34, and Transportes Suroeste Antioqueño also runs the route. Rápido Ochoa's website lists departures from very early until late afternoon:

The bus ends its run in town. From there almost everything is on foot, and for the veredas there are jeeps and mototaxis.

By car

  1. Leave Medellín south toward Caldas and Amagá.
  2. Drop to the bridge over the Cauca river.
  3. Climb along the Troncal del Café toward Hispania and Andes.
  4. From Andes to Jardín is the last mountain stretch.

The road is paved, but it is a mountain road with heavy trucks. In May 2025 landslides closed sections of the Troncal del Café; before leaving, check road status on the governor's office or Invías accounts.

Without a car, once in Jardín

If you arrive by bus and want to skip taxis, pick a place in town: hotels near the square. If you drive, ask about parking and compare options in the Jardín hotels.
